Big Snow Storm Enables The Telluride Ski Resort to Open All Ski Lifts
TELLURIDE, Colorado (PRWeb) December 20, 2006 -- Another winter storm brought a heap of snow to the San Juans over the last 48 hours, leaving the Telluride Ski Resort with 19 inches of fresh snow. The snow totals for the last two weeks are over 34 inches, making skiing conditions superb. The big storm enables The Telluride Ski Resort (Telski) to open more terrain. Telski announced all lifts will open Saturday, Dec. 16. Terrain off of each lift will be based on conditions. Also, this weekend all of the on-mountain dining facilities will be available to skiers and riders.
The Top-a-ten Snowshoe and Nordic Center offers visitors another way to explore the mountains. Guided snowshoe tours through thick forest and serene meadows are available daily at 10 a.m. The two to three hour tours provide educational recreation for all ages and abilities. Learn about wildlife, trees, geology, history and climate. Snowshoers must dress appropriately, and bring water and a snack. Nordic skiers enjoy ten kilometers of groomed trails, maps provided at the Top-a-ten Yurt. Trails are open from 9am-4pm.
