Ski & Snowboard Festival at Timber Ridge Ski Area


Gobles, MI (PRWEB) October 6, 2007 -- The ski and snowboard season arrives early this year! Saturday October 13th, 2007 marks the Third Annual Kalamazoo Ski & Snowboard Festival, being held this year at Timber Ridge Ski Area, Gobles, MI.

This year's Festival highlights include:

-Big Air exhibition by touring aerial athletes- twins Adam & Luke Schrab will perform a new all-season variation on their famous big air jump and aerial show. Both twins have been featured in professional ski movies, and Adam has been seen in the 2000 Winter X-Games.

-Rail jam competition for all skill levels- held at 6pm, with different rails to accommodate all skill levels. Entry is only $5.00, and a prize drawing will follow the event.

-Live music with food and beverage service on the deck and in the Snowshoe bar.

-Exhibitor booths with product representatives- local and regional business, and product representatives will be on hand showcasing the latest gear.

-Prize giveaways, and gear discounts in the Timber Ridge Ski Shop.

-Local premier of Teton Gravity Research's 2007 action sports movie, 9pm - Lost and Found. Their annual ski & snowboard film is premiered to sold out audiences in over 150 locations across North America, Europe, and Japan. Lost and Found is the story of an extraordinary season as seen through the eyes of world-class skiers and snowboarders. With global drought persisting and ski resorts closing around the world, athletes are forced to follow the snow, sending them deep into the uncharted north country of Alaska and Canada. Tickets are available at the door for $10.00.

The event is being held at the Timber Ridge Ski Area, approximately 8 miles Northwest of Kalamazoo: 131 north of Kalamazoo and west at "D" Ave. The Resort's address is 07500 23 ½ St. Gobles, MI 49055. The Timber Ridge Ski & Snowboard shop opens Oct 10th for this season's new ski and snowboard equipment and season passes for the 2007-2008 season. The Timber Ridge ski shop will be open for the festival with food and beverages; and during the Ski and Snowboard Swap that runs November 2nd through the 4th. Timber Ridge ski area opened in 1963 in beautiful Southwest Michigan. Timber Ridge is a good ski area for the whole family with plenty of easy runs.
