Ski Snowstar Back in Business, Snow Finally Arrives

Quad Cities, IL (PRWEB) January 16, 2007 -- Winter is making a comeback in Illinois. Thanks to lower temperatures and snow, Ski Snowstar Winter Sports Park took the slopes green grass to winter wonderland almost overnight. The Resort re-opened Jan 15, 2007 and plans to be 100% open by Wednesday, Jan 17.

"Better late than never," Snowstar General Manager, Ed Meyer said. "We would have preferred this cold snap a month ago, but we will take all we get now."

Current resort conditions are listed as Packed Powder with a base of up to 24 inches. With the resort's 100% snowmaking coverage that is continuing around the clock, they plan to make as much snow as possible while the cold temperatures cooperate. The area plans to be open seven days a week until March with operating hours from 9am-9pm. The Tubing park will also re-open Wednesday evening, Jan 17, 2007.

Upcoming special events at the area include:
-January 27th-Teen Night: Live Band/Fly-Away-Hero
-January 27th-Sports Illustrated for Kids Next Snow Search-Event to select qualified participants to participate in the SEARCH finals to be held at Killington. VT (March 2-4, 2007).
